I have just finished two slices of Bram Brack and a mugful of hot apple cider (to the sound of detonating fireworks from around the neighbourhood). Col and I are now running out to a Halloween party at her brother's house. Pics to follow... :) Bye!

Well, hiya. If you don't already know who I am, than I am curious as to how you arrived at my little corner of the internet. Seriously! Email me! The basic story? I am a 21 (er... make that 22) year-old Canadian who originally planned to come to Ireland for a few weeks to visit a friend. However, this little plan quickly grew in my mind and before you could say "work visa", my short visit turned into something a little bit longer. Since this is my first time leaving North America, I figured there might be some interesting tidbits I'd like to share with family and friends. And since I'm lazy, I'd rather just tell them once. Plus this space serves as a bit of a travel journal for me, and a place where I can dump all my travel photos as I go along. Please feel encouraged to leave comments as it would be interesting to see if anyone is actually reading my rantings. Thanks!

We just walked in the door (back from the Halloween party). I only had a minute before we left to post a quick note on the Blog, and there wasn't an entry for Barm Brack in the Wikipedia. In short, it is a kind of bread. I promise to explain more about it tommorow (bangs of fireworks are still going off here though it's past midnight).
